As a consultant I can promise you high quality, solutions-focused and evidence-based outputs, alongside reliability and flexibility. I act as a strategic sounding board to leaders and managers, and offer headspace and reassurance for busy, committed people who need to know that something on their long to do list is in safe, strategic hands. My diverse set of skills based on my varied background means I keep the big picture, the operating environment, and practical delivery considerations all in mind. I am available for short, medium and long term projects and focus on work across four areas. Examples of what I do are as follows:
Influencing, policy, communications and network building:
advocacy and public affairs strategy development, planning and implementation (including influencing strategies with UK government and other advocacy targets)
policy analysis and influencing support to organisations engaging in global, national and local level political processes
network and coalition building and strengthening (this includes work representing organisations working in cross sector coalitions)
writing and disseminating policy briefs, evidence based research reports and literature reviews
building advocacy and influencing skills, with an emphasis on creativity and tactical choices to prevent campaigner burn out
developing and reviewing key messages, tactics and tools
producing case studies, infographics, and promotional materials
People:
developing staff wellbeing plans and strategies
conducting workplace culture reviews
supporting staff through difficult periods or working in challenging contexts
Organisational and team development and strategy
writing, developing, reviewing, evaluating and refreshing strategies
conducting competitor, SWOT, context and environment, PESTLE, gap and stakeholder analyses
facilitating and developing board, organisation and team wide mission statements, values, and theory of change
Programmes:
planning, implementing, reviewing, monitoring and evaluating projects and programmes

writing programme proposals, budgets, plans and reports, including for donors and funders
developing and marketing specific project and programme approaches and products, including to generate income.
Thematic areas of expertise include international development and humanitarian response, the Middle East region, mental health including workplace wellbeing, gender, conflict and non-violence, homelessness, human rights, resilience, and ageing. I am a quick learner and work across a range of issues as a consultant, including ones I’ve no previous experience of. Examples of this include domestic violence, library services, and youth work.
